15. Waste Electrical or Electronic Equipment (WEEE) directive
15.1 You can now recycle your old monitors with us.
If you’re buying a brand new device or wish to dispose of an old one, we will recycle it for you for free.
15.2 Why recycle?
Unwanted electrical equipment is the UK’s fastest growing type of waste. Bedfont® takes pride in being an environmentally friendly company; we are always striving to reduce our carbon footprint. Old electrical items normally end up in landfills and, if not dealt with properly, might leak hazardous substances which, in turn, contaminate the soil and water. This can then harm both wildlife and human health.
15.3 We can help
We are pleased to offer our customers the chance to recycle their old monitors. By recycling them, we prevent these monitors from harming anyone or anything through environmental pollution. To find out how to recycle your old device, please contact us via email@example.com or alternatively you may call us on +44(0) 1622 851122.
To remind you that our old electrical monitors can be recycled, all of our monitors are marked with a crossed-out wheeled bin symbol. Please do not throw any electrical equipment manufactured by Bedfont® (including those marked with the crossed out wheeled bin symbol) in your bin.
15.4 What is WEEE?
The Waste Electrical or Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive requires countries to maximise separate collection and environmentally friendly processing of these items. In the UK, distributors (including retailers) must provide a system which allows all customers buying new electrical equipment the opportunity to recycle their old items free of charge. Those establishing their own take-back scheme must, as a minimum, offer all customers buying new electrical equipment free take back of their old electricals on a like-for-like basis.
15.6 Bedfont’s register WEEE number is WEE/GJ0051TQ.
We do not actively moderate, monitor or edit contributions to the reader comments but we may intervene and take such action as we think necessary. If you have any concerns over the contents on our site, please register those concerns via e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
